Holt Inclusivity Coalition

Welcome to the home of Holt Inclusivity Coalition. Our students deserve to grow up in a safe, inclusive learning environment, so we are working to educate the HPS learning community on important Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices.

What is DEI?

Diversity

Understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, (dis)ability status, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies.

Equity

An approach that ensures everyone access to the same opportunities. Equity recognizes that advantages and barriers exist, and that, as a result, we all don’t all start from the same place. Equity is a process that begins by acknowledging that unequal starting place and continues to correct and address the imbalance.

Inclusion

Involvement and empowerment, where the inherent worth and dignity of all people are recognized. An inclusive organization promotes and sustains a sense of belonging; it values and practices respect for the talents, beliefs, backgrounds, and ways of living of its members.
