Welcome to the Holt Equity Project…
Holt Public Schools is Here for You.
Holt Public Schools is committed to creating an environment in which every member of our community is seen, heard, valued, and welcomed.
We believe in celebrating our differences through appreciating the identities and experiences of us all. Understanding the importance of DEI practices and learning how to be aware of our mental health helps us better support the social, emotional, and mental wellness of each person in the HPS community. Holt Support More and Holt Inclusivity Coalition ensure our diverse student body is celebrated and well-served.
Our goal is to grow equity throughout the district and broaden the collective voice of our learning community. Through this initiative we hope to impact school culture and climate at Holt Public Schools, with the overarching intent to dismantle systems of oppression and racism that have affected historically marginalized communities.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) encompasses any practice that seeks to improve relationships among different groups of people in a community. The HPS community has significant ethnic diversity and representation; almost half of our student body is BIPOC. Ultimately, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion allows us to #knowbetterdobetter.
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think and feel, the actions we take, and our ability to connect with others. Whether you are a parent, student, or staff member, learning about mental health supports the wellness of the entire HPS community.
